En un post pasado mencionamos que los Flaming Lips estrenarían en éstas fechas su película Christmas on Mars después de varios años trabajando en el proyecto. En TSOSM el espíritu navideño nos invade. Ante ésto les dejamos la cinta para que la puedan disfrutar en la tranquilidad de su casa éste domingo. Tal vez no sea una película navideña convencional pero pues si quieren algo a la vieja usanza córranle al cine a ver Navidad S.A., se ve que está bien buena y es bieeeeen original! O igual y están pasando Mi Pobre Angelito en el 5.
Éste documental ha estado dando vueltas por el mundo la mayor parte de lo que va del año. Lamentablemente no ha llegado a nuestras manos pero pronto pronto! A mi me faltan palabras, así que me encontré ésto por ahí:
The greatest cultural accomplishments in history have never been the result of the brainstorms of marketing men, corporate focus groups, or any homogenized methods; they have always happened organically. Many had no formal training and almost no conception of the inner workings of the art world. They learned their crafts through practice, trial and error, and good old-fashioned innovation. Not since the Beat Generation have we seen a group of creative individuals with such a unified aesthetic sense and varied cultural facets. The world of art has been greatly affected by their accomplishments as have the worlds of fashion, music, literature, film, and, ironically, athletics. Over the years, the group has matured, and many have become more establishment-oriented; but no matter, their independent spirit has remained steadfast. The story of the Beautiful Losers will be a retrospective celebration of this spirit.
